Katharine Round - Director, Producer

Katharine is a producer and director with over seventeen years experience in documentary films. She has made films for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Discovery, amongst others, and had her work exhibited at the Serpentine Gallery, the Barbican and European Parliament in Brussels.

Alongside THE DIVIDE, other recent projects as a director include THE CITIZENS' NETWORK for Al Jazeera; LONDON RECRUITS: THE SECRET WAR AGAINST APARTHEID, an experiential and interactive film for the V&A; a film on the lives of Latin American women in London INVISIBLE WOMEN; and the Grierson-nominated TRANSPLANT for BBC1.

She is co-founder of DISOBEDIENT FILMS (www.disobedientfilms.com), which explores ways to subvert conventional narratives through cross-genre work in film, art and journalism. She is also a founder of DOCHEADS (www.docheads.org), supporting other documentary filmmakers through screenings, masterclasses and curated events. Katharine regularly gives masterclasses on documentary production and funding, for organisations including Sheffield Doc/Fest, BAFTA and the Roundhouse.

Christopher Hird - Executive Producer

Christopher Hird is a leading figure in UK independent documentary making. He is a former chair of the Sheffield International Documentary Foundation and was the founding chair of the Channel Four Britdoc Foundation. He is currently a trustee of the Grierson Trust, the Wincott Foundation and the Centre for Investigative Journalism.

He has produced or executive produced some of the most successful feature documentaries of recent years - including Black Gold (on the coffee trade), Fire in the Blood, The End of the Line and McCullin.

Woody James - Director of Photography

Woody has worked as a Director of Photography for 12 years, on a range of programmes for BBC1, 2, ITV and Ch4. He is particularly inspired by cinematic documentaries.

John Mister - Editor

John graduated from the London Film School in 1973 and early credits as an assistant editor included both Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Life of Brian. As an editor John has worked with Nick Broomfield (Chicken Ranch, Driving Me Crazy, The Leader) and Kim Longinotto (Hidden Faces, Dream Girls). Recent credits include Moving to Mars, The Battle for Barking, The Sound of Mumbai and McQueen and I.
