Tickets for World Premiere now on sale

We can now confirm the full details of our world premiere - the 11th April, 6.30pm at Picturehouse Central on Shaftesbury Avenue. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Spirit Level authors Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett. I look forward to saying thank you in person for being part of The Divide - it couldn't have been done without your support.

If you supported our crowdfund at Top Spirits/Angel level you will have already received your invite by email. Tickets have also just gone on sale at the cinema - so join us and bring your friends for what promises to be a great event!

The Divide at ZagrebDox

t's been an exciting few months as we have continued our UK festival run - opening the very first Global Health Film Festival in London, and an official selection at Cork Film Festival. Last week we had our mainland European premiere at ZagrebDox in Croatia to a packed out and enthusiastic crowd on their biggest screen! The Divide opens Global Health Film Festival

The Divide is selected to launch the first Global Health Film Festival, held at the Royal Society of Medicine in London. A collaboration between the Royal Society Medicine, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the festival aims to use film and media as a catalyst to inspire change in health and development.

Open to all, the line-up includes a rich programme of feature films, virtual reality experiences, panel discussions, short films and workshops together with special sessions for health advocates, filmmakers and journalists.

The Divide screens at the European Parliament in Brussels

We were asked to present the film to MEPs in Brussels, and were invited to join a discussion with representatives from across Europe on the subject of inequality. We were thrilled to be able to put the issue on the agenda here.

Scottish preview screening at Take One Action

Take One Action is Scotland's global action cinema project linking audiences, movies, campaigners and communities. It was a privilege to show the film three times as part of their excellent and packed programme - twice at the Edinburgh FilmHouse (including a schools screening with discussion afterwards with students), and once at the Glasgow Film Theatre. Excellent Q&As followed all screenings with guests including Peter Kelly (Poverty Alliance), Marco Biagi MSP and Jamie Livingstone (Oxfam Scotland)

Nomination for "Best UK Film" at Open City Documentary Festival

The Divide had its London festival premiere at Open City Documentary Festival on the 20th June, 6pm at Hackney Picturehouse, where it was nominated for "Best UK Film". It was a cracking event - with another sold out audience, and some surprise guests in the audience. Here's a few photos:

The Divide goes down a storm at Sheffield Doc/Fest

Wow, what a week! After four and a half years from concept to screen - this week saw the very first screenings of THE DIVIDE as a festival preview at Sheffield Doc/Fest, the UK's premier documentary and digital media festival.

Sheffield Doc/Fest is one of the top three documentary festivals in the world, and we were honoured to be selected to be part of it. With an audience of industry and public alike, it's an important launchpad for the film as it begins its journey into the wider world.

So it was pretty amazing to arrive and find that tickets had already sold out - 2 days before our first screening! The response was astounding, both in the cinema and on social media, where the film was called "poignant and viscerally enraging", a "brilliant and moving portrayal", "emotional, beautiful and engaging". It was wonderful to see so many supporters as well as welcoming co-author of The Spirit Level Richard Wilkinson for the post-screening Q&A.

The response from industry was also incredibly positive, and we have some big news we'll be able to announce in the next few weeks.

We are now busy working towards our cinema release, which we expect to be in the autumn for the UK (it will be slightly later for those out of the UK). For crowdfunders who have backed us for world or local premiere tickets, we will send your invites out in good time as soon as we have a date. For those who have supported us by buying a download in advance, we will send you a password-protected time limited download when the film is released.
